Working For You - Internships

A step-by-step path for college students looking for internships in the Bay Area Houston region. Start with your campus career center, check the statewide and federal internship programs, then apply directly to employers that run formal internship programs.

Start at your campus career center

Step 1

Career centers post local internships, review résumés and host employer career fairs.

Search statewide and federal programs

Step 2

NASA Johnson Space Center and other federal agencies post internships through these programs.

Apply directly to employer internship programs

Step 3

Regional employers with dedicated internship, co-op or student programs. Each name opens that employer's student page in a new tab.

Step 4

Many smaller employers post internships on their regular job boards. Our industry pages list hundreds of regional employers.

When to apply

  • Large employers fill summer internships early. Many open applications in late summer and fall for the following summer, so start looking in August.
  • NASA internships have firm deadlines. For 2027: summer applications close March 1 and fall applications close May 24.
  • Ask your career center about co-ops, part-time roles during the semester, and employers that recruit on your campus.
